Spring Cleaning: A Guided Exercise to Find Focus & Resist Overcommitting
Spring is in the air!
With that burst of new life often comes an impulse to do all the things. But instead of taking on the world, it's important to set a sustainable pace and think about what matters most.
Way too often, we overcommit. We expect ourselves to do everything well, all at once. Or we say "yes" with enthusiasm on a great day, only to get overwhelmed and disappointed when we can't meet those expectations on a normal day. It's incredibly common to take on more than we can handle.
I created this exercise to help you get grounded and choose what to focus on. You'll take stock of your desires and obligations, distilling them down to your top devotions for the season. This clarity will help you resist the pressure to do all the things, all at once.
By the end of this exercise, you'll have fresh new insights--plus a practical list of what you want to commit to now and what can wait.
Spring is a great time to do this audio practice, but you can do it any time you’re feeling over-extended or need clarity.
What do I get when I buy this?
You get a guided exercise you can do on your own, anytime. You'll receive an audio file (13 minutes) of my voice guiding you through the exercise, which takes about 45 minutes to complete. You'll also receive a PDF that contains a written version of the audio (7 pages). You can download and keep the audio file and PDF forever.

How does the exercise work?
Set aside around 45 minutes to do this spring cleaning exercise. You'll need a journal, scrap paper, scissors, and a pen.
Listen to the audio, which guides you through a brainstorming and self-reflection exercise. Pause the audio whenever you need more time.
If you like, you can look at the PDF to read along with the audio--or simply read the exercise instead of listening.
The exercise gives you prompts and asks questions. You'll write things down on pieces of paper, make piles, and finish with a clear sense of what you want to focus on right now--and what you don't.
When you're done, keep the audio file and PDF so you can do them again. Spring is a great time to do this practice, but you can do it any time you’re feeling over-extended or need clarity. Make it a seasonal or annual practice!
